  • We get it — life happens. If you’re unable to attend your class, we ask that you cancel your class at least an hour prior to the start time. We’re unable to credit classes back to you if you cancel within the hour before start time. We also honor and value your time and expect you to do the same for ours. Please cancel your reservation if you end up not being able to attend your class. If you do not cancel and do not show up to class, a $5 no show fee will be charged.

Mox Movement reserves the right to cancel a class when there are less than 3 students enrolled an hour prior to the class start time. If a class is canceled due to low enrollment, Mox Movement will credit classes to students who were enrolled in the canceled class.

  • You will likely sweat in class! We suggest you wear comfortable clothing you can easily move around in!

  • For all classes — a towel and water! If you are taking a flow class and have a favorite mat you like to practice on, bring that too! Don’t have a mat? Don’t worry we have some available to rent at the studio. We also have high quality mats and towels available at the studio for purchase. Yoga blocks, straps, and blankets will be available for use during class but you are also always welcome to bring your own.

  • Great question!

Flow classes are practiced on a yoga mat. In Yang flow classes practitioners can expect to see influences from Vinyasa yoga (athletic style of yoga that focuses on linking breath with movement) as well as elements of functional mobility and dance and music will accompany the practice to elevate the experience. In Yin flow classes practitioners can expect to see influences from Yin yoga as well as breathwork practices for recovery and nervous system regulation.

In movement classes we practice directly on the studio floor (no mat needed!) and practitioners can expect the opportunity to move around the whole room and interact with their classmates. In Yang movement classes you will develop strength and mobility through hand balancing and locomotion movements and experience influences from capoeira, calisthenics, dance, mobility work and functional strength training. In Yin movement classes class practitioners can expect to see influences from dance-like floor work, rolling patterns, and grounded functional mobility.

One class type is not a prerequisite for the other and are meant to be taken in tandem with each other - let’s move in all the ways!

  • Essentially this is the time during the class when the teacher gets out of the way and the practice becomes truly “YOURS”. In the Yang Flow 2 classes the teachers will craft a sequence for you and then stop talking for a bit, turn the music up and let you move at YOUR PACE. During this time in class you can feel free to add in postures, alter the sequence, and move in ways you need.

Why do this? Having to learn the sequence and then put your own spin on it is a lot like learning choreography. It challenges your brain in addition to your body giving you a unique experience that has the potential to build new pathways in your brain (how cool is that!). If you are new to this type of practice that is okay! It’s completely normal and just like anything new, with practice it will get easier! And don’t worry the teacher will always pull the group back together several times during the class and end with a fully led cool down and stillness practice.

  • Amazing! Leaning into new experiences is something we value at MOX. We are here to support you. Our teachers are trained to meet you where you are and create an experience that is safe and inviting. Our classes are open to ALL LEVELS, however, we assume that you have had some movement + flow experience in any of our level 2 classes. Check out our CLASS TYPES to learn more about each experience.

While you are welcome to take any class you like, if you are unsure of which option might be the best place to start at MOX, we encourage you to try our level 1 flow or movement classes - and come back a few times to find your rhythm. Each instructor will put their own spin on each class type so come say HI to as many of them as you can!

  • At MOX we truly are a community of movers who have each other’s back. We respect and care deeply for one another and show that by arriving on time for class and staying until the end. We get it, life happens and on a rare occasion you may need to leave class early. If that is the case, please let your teacher know prior to the start of class so they can be prepared for your exit. We also ask that you practice good hygiene and limit the use of strong scents while in the space. Have questions that may take some time to answer? Any of our teachers would be happy to answer those types of questions after practice!
